Story Starters

These reading activities address significant milestones in Goulbourn’s development.  While intended as a starting point for short story writing, these “starters’ could also serve as inspiration for skits or other group presentations.  Our story starters can be adapted for a variety of primary grade levels, depending on how they are applied within the classroom.

Matching Games

Our Matching Game worksheets require students to pair images of antique household items with their modern counterparts to decode a secret message.  The Answer Sheets provide a brief explanation of the function and significance of each antique household item.

Pioneer Cut-Out Dolls

These paper dolls include clothing typical of Goulbourn’s farming pioneers.  This activity is an engaging starting point for discussing traditional pioneer gender roles with primary-level students.
